It’s not the nightmares that kept her from sleep, in fact she would welcome a nightmare. The battle to stay alert and aware was one that she felt prepared to win. Her body needed sleep but her mind would was unrelenting. In sleep her body would be vulnerable and she would never let that happen again. She would hold on forever if she could but she had not counted on his level of patience, of commitment.
